Vyan Product — Answer · Module C.12 Library F.3 · Codex Ch. 20 · The AI receptionist

Never miss the call that pays the rent.

The single biggest leak for solos and studios isn't follow-up — it's the call that rings out while your hands are gloved, inked, or on a ladder. Vyan Answer picks up, books the work, and texts you a brief you can act on between jobs.

Free to start · No setup fees · No contract · Every call on your timeline, readable forever

01 The definition Plain answer · quotable

What is an AI receptionist?

An AI receptionist answers the calls you miss, identifies itself as an assistant, and turns conversations into business. Vyan Answer books real appointments against real availability, sends the deposit link by text, and briefs you in two lines — so a gloved, inked, or on-a-ladder operator loses nothing.

02 The signature screen A missed call, recovered end to end

The call you didn't take still ends in a booking.

A forwarded or missed call picks itself up — in your configured voice and policy. Answer understands what the caller wants, checks your real availability, takes the booking, sends the deposit link, and files the whole conversation on the relationship timeline.

Then it texts you two lines and one-tap actions. You stay in the chair; the calendar fills anyway.

AssistantBlackline Studio, this is the booking assistant. The artists are with clients — I can help you book or take a message.
CallerYeah, I want to set up a sleeve consult with Rosa. Sometime Thursday if she has anything.
AssistantRosa has Thursday at 2:30 or 5:00 for a 45-minute consult. A $50 deposit holds it, credited to your session.

03 The flows that are the product Ring → intent → booking → brief
F.1 The call picks itself up Missed or forwarded, the call answers in your configured voice and policy — "Blackline Studio, this is the booking assistant…" Your greeting, your rules, your hours. The phone stops being a single point of failure.
F.2 Intent, understood Book, reschedule, question, quote — Answer classifies what the caller wants and runs the matching flow. A reschedule moves the appointment; a quote request becomes a structured task with the details already captured.
F.3 Real availability, real booking Answer checks live availability, takes the booking, and sends the deposit link by text. The slot it offers is a slot you actually have — no double-booking, no callback purgatory.
F.4 The two-line brief After every call you get two lines and one-tap actions: confirm, call back, adjust. Enough to act between jobs; never a transcript to wade through unless you want it.
04 The hard rules Inherited from the AI doctrine · non-negotiable

An assistant that pretends to be you spends trust you didn't authorize. Answer never pretends.

Codex Ch. 20 · The agent interface
RULE 1 It identifies itself Every call opens with the truth: this is an assistant. Callers respond to competence, not impersonation.
RULE 2 It never invents a price Answer quotes only what's in your service menu. A price not in the menu is a question for you, never a guess for a caller.
RULE 3 Ambiguity escalates Anything unclear becomes a callback task with the context attached. The assistant's job is to know what it doesn't know.
RULE 4 Every conversation lands on the timeline Transcript, intent, outcome — filed on the relationship. Six months later, you still know what was said and what was promised.
05 Standalone & composed Graceful degradation · Library A.4

Answer is complete alone: it picks up, understands, captures, and briefs you. It composes through the event bloodstream — built on the comms rail and the agent interface, rails we were laying anyway. When a sibling module is absent, the fallback is native behavior, never a dead end.

D.1 Without Book Answer captures a structured callback request — name, intent, preferred times — and files it as a task. The call is still saved; Book just turns it into a held slot.
D.2 Without Pay Answer books without a deposit. The slot is held on your word; Pay adds the no-show defense.

Answer is simply the first agent running on rails we were laying anyway.

07 Questions Plain answers · binding
Q.1Does it tell callers it's an AI?

Yes, always. Every call opens with the truth: it identifies itself as an assistant. An assistant that pretends to be you spends trust you didn't authorize — Answer never pretends. Callers respond to competence, not impersonation.

Q.2Can it quote prices?

Only from your service menu, never invented. A price not in the menu is a question for you, not a guess for a caller — Answer files it as a callback task with the details already captured.

Q.3What happens when a caller asks something it can't handle?

Ambiguity escalates. Anything unclear becomes a callback task with the full context attached — name, intent, what was said. The assistant's job is to know what it doesn't know, and the call is never lost.

Q.4Is this just missed call text back?

It covers what a missed call text back tool does, then finishes the job: AI phone answering that holds the conversation, books against your real availability, and sends the deposit link. If you're replacing a GoHighLevel missed-call workflow, forwarding your number is one setting.

Your phone is ringing right now. Somewhere.

Answer five questions and Vyan Builder compiles your workspace — voice configured, service menu loaded, forwarding live. The next missed call books itself.

One recovered booking a month pays for Answer several times over. Most operators recover more.
